Connecting to a Master Controller via USB
NOTE: With AMX's NX Series Controllers (NX-1200, NX-2200, NX-3200 and NX-4200), the USB Gadget Serial driver will need to be installed differently for users running the Windows 8.X 32/64 bit Operating Systems. This driver is required to connect to the USB programming port on the front panel of the NX Series Controllers. Manual installation of this driver will require the user to "Disable Driver Signature Verification" when installing unsigned drivers. Refer to the

for instructions on disabling driver signature verification and how to install the USB Gadget Serial driver.
- Select Settings > Workspace Communications Settings to open the Workspace Communication Settings dialog.
- Click System Settings to open the Communications Settings dialog, and open the USB tab (FIG. 226):

- Highlight the Master you want to connect to and click Select to connect to the Master.
- Click Edit to open the Edit USB Master’s Username/Password dialog to set the user name and password for authentication access to the Master. This step is optional. You can only change the user name and password in the dialog. The additional fields are view-only.
- Click OK to close the USB Master’s Username/Password dialog, and click OK in the Communications Settings dialog to return to the Workspace Communication Settings dialog, now indicating the USB-connected Master as the current connection
configuration.
- Click OK to close the Workspace Communication Settings dialog.
- Refresh the Online Tree (select Refresh System Online Tree from the Online Tree context menu) to connect to the Master.
